3rd Bead Soup Blog Party!!!!!

***i aplogize for the delay in getting my post up-
it originally did not post on saturday when i had
scheduled it-i had to go to the help forum :(
then i got this terrible virus which i'm still working
on getting better-at least i kept 1/2 slice of toast down
and i'm moving around a little bit now-enjoy the hop
and i can't wait to see what you think of my creation!***

Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party!

Bead Soup Blog Party
What is a Bead Soup Blog Party?

Each beader was paired up with
another jewelry designer and
asked with sending the following:

~ A focal
~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw)
~ Some coordinating spacers or beads

Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory,
but we could use anything from our own stash
to round out the rest and
choose to use the coordinating beads or not.

My partner was the lovely Paige Maxim of
Paige Maxim Designs and here are the goodies
she supplied me with:
Fresh Water Pearls- Peacock
Jennifer Jangles- Flower Focal
Large Smooth Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp
Vintage Lucite- "The Beadin' Path"
10mm Black Lave Stone
12mm Cherry Quartz
Chalcedony Briolettes
7x10m Amazonite

Here's what I made!

this is my very first necklace and
i love that it's fun and classy.
i already know this is coming along
with me to aruba in april :0)

i really loved the mix of blues and aqua-
i added in a few pearls from my own stash.

thank you Paige for such wonderful
goodies to play with and a big thanks

change is hard, change is good...

every monday the simple scrapper

has a photo/journaling prompt for you!

this week's prompt:

this picture is of my godmother Maria and I.

it's at the summer sidewalk sale,

every year in downtown Patchogue

my mother used to get my sister & I

ready for this dreadful day and this

was my favorite part-meeting up with Madrina.

at the end of Sept. 2010 she passed away.

i think about her every day & still cry.

she was my go to for everything and

thus the biggest change in my life i'm dealing w/ right now.

i still always pick up the phone to call her,

expect her to call me for special days-

we had more than just holidays...

when i go to the house to pick up or

visit my godfather-i still smell her perfume

and hope that she'll come walking out of that

bedroom all ready and good to go.

but it's never going to happen again.

the good change that has come from this-

everything she has taught me

is just flourishing and

every time I say, act on or do something-

i see her reflection on me.

this change is still the hardest thing,

this change is becoming a good thing.

one day at a time.
